Sowmya Subramanian completed her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in June 2016

Sowmya Subramanian completed her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in June 2016. Her dissertation is titled "A Closed-loop Integrated Microsystem for Real-time Characterization, Sensing and Treatment of Bacterial Biofilms." Her dissertation presents development of an integrated microsystem that enables biofilm growth with reduced variance, as well as continuous real-time monitoring and closed-loop treatment using low electric fields.
